September 5 at 6pm: Book Passage, San Francisco.  Jane will be in San Francisco doing a reading from Rent Vs. Own and signing copies of the book at Book Passage in the Ferry Building. The event is free and being held at Book Passage in San Francisco located at 1 Ferry Building.

June 16 at 2 pm: Auntie’s Bookstore, Spokane.  Jane will be reading an excerpt from Rent Vs. Own as well as signing copies of the book at Auntie’s Bookstore. The event is free and being held at Aunties Bookstore located at 402 West Main Avenue in Spokane, Washington.

June 1 at 7 pm: Atomic Books, Maryland.  Jane will be participating in a discussion on the current real estate landscape and signing copies of Rent Vs. Own at Atomic Books. The event is free and being held at Atomic Books located at 3620 Falls Rd. in Baltimore, Maryland.

May 16 at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm: Mediabistro Book Club Party, New York.  Jane will be reading from Rent Vs. Own at Mediabistro’s Internet Week and Book Club Party in New York. Moderated by KUOW’s Ross Reynolds, this distinguished panel features finance and real-estate reporter Jane Hodges (author of Rent Vs. Own); Jon Talton (The Seattle Times’ business columnist); Christopher Bitter (of the UW’s Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies), and Svenja Maarit Gudell (Zillow senior economist). The conversation can illuminate your path through the conflicting advice of real estate agents, well-intentioned friends and family, and financial advisors; debate the pros and cons of renting and owning in this volatile market; and explain how to avoid pitfalls through thoughtful planning.
